Introduction to Gopher, an accessible alternative to the Web

In this session Sauro Cesaretti and Rafael Minuesa analyze Gopher, a long-standing protocol, to understand how it can be useful to access content in a simple and above all accessible way.

The architecture makes it a valid alternative to the web with a content access approach based mainly on textual content.

This will also be an opportunity to retrace the evolution of assistive technologies that have allowed access to information for the visually impaired.
